SERVICE AREAS

Speech and Language Therapy
I offer linguistic and/or motorically based speech therapy depending on the child’s diagnosis. Expressive language and receptive language disorders are also treatment areas. Basically, expressive language is what you say and how you say it. Receptive language involves skills such as listening and auditory comprehension and following directions; basically anything to do with language that does not involve speaking.
Feeding Therapy
I have extensive training in feeding and feeding disorders from premature infants through adults. Dysphagia, tethered oral tissues, bottle feedings, picky/self-restricted eating, oral motor and mastication are just a few examples of areas that I can treat. I often work closely with GI to provide optimal success with NG tube and G-tube kiddos.

Teletherapy
Teletherapy is a wonderful option for the appropriate child! I can offer teletherapy to those living anywhere in the states of Texas and Georgia. Articulation assessments can often be completed via teletherapy and the HIPAA compliant platform if desired. It is recommended that children younger than kindergarten receive all services in person.

Parent Coaching
Have questions about your child’s speech and language development or feeding? Do you have more than 15 minutes worth of questions or are seeking advice to best aid your child in his/her speech and language development? Are you confused about bottles and the one that is right for your child? I also offer bottle selection consultation services. General consultation is done via zoom but bottle selection is done in person at your home for your convenience.

Clinician Coaching/Mentoring
Are you a new SLP with loads of questions and want a trusted and experienced SLP to bounce ideas off of, suggest testing and overall guidance? Feel free to contact me for professional coaching/mentoring. Clinician coaching is offered by phone or Zoom.

Pre-Consultation
Please complete the Intake Form to be completed to establish contact and high level information. I will review and reach out within 24-48 business hours to find a time that works for us to meet for our phone consultation.
Step 1: Phone Consultation
I offer a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation to discuss your child and any areas of concern that you may have. If we decide an evaluation is in order, we can schedule one. This consultation helps me to decide which assessments to give and the amount of time needed for the evaluation. I will email you a link to the patient portal and request that you complete all forms prior to arriving to your child’s evaluation.
Step 2: Speech & Language Evaluation
Blue Sky Speech and Feeding Therapy offers a variety of assessments, both standardized/ formal, along with informal assessments to help me gather the most information about your child. There will be a parent interview portion at the beginning of the evaluation, which will also allow me to observe your child play in the therapy area or in his/her natural environment at your home. The length of time of the evaluation varies depending on the area being evaluated, the child’s age and the child’s overall cooperation.
Generally, you will leave the evaluation knowing if your child qualifies for therapy. Formal test results, including standardized scores, a detailed report, etc. will be shared at the first session if your child qualifies for therapy. If your child does not qualify for therapy, your report will be emailed to you via our HIPAA compliant platform.
Step 3: Individualized Therapy Sessions
I created Blue Sky Speech and Feeding Therapy to be family centered; I strive to offer therapy in a way that the family feels the most comfortable and is the most convenient. Life is made to be adapted and I can provide therapy services in my office, your home or within education settings such as private schools, preschools, or even daycare.
Therapy sessions generally are between 30 to 60 minutes depending on age and diagnosis.
